Job Summary:
- The Assistant Director is a lead member of administration who works closely with the other members of the Admin team to support the mission and values of Piper Preschool.
- The candidate works closely with the Administrative Team to ensure that all functions of this job description are fulfilled.
- The candidate is committed to sustaining a high-quality preschool program that values partnerships between families and staff, and creating an open and honest working environment that inspires professionalism and rewards creative, innovative teaching.
- The candidate must assist the members of the administrative team as needed in overseeing all operations to ensure a quality experience for all members of the Piper community.
- Review and enforce Personnel Policies.
- Review, enforce, and rehearse Safety Procedures.
- Review licensing requirements and maintain compliance with regulations.
- Familiar with software programs such as ADP and Playground.
- Understand and enforce all policies within the Faculty Handbook.
- Serve as a member of the Piper Administrative Team.
- Assist the Director as needed with overall management to help ensure safety and top-quality programming throughout the entire organization.
- Assist all Administrative Team members as needed.
- Work closely with staff to ensure consistent representation of philosophy and cohesiveness throughout the school.
- Support daily administrative functions, including scheduling, record-keeping, payroll, communication, and documentation.
- Assist teachers and staff in coordinating classroom activities and school events.
- Serve as a warm and professional first point of contact for families and visitors.
- Manage calendars, emails, and phone communications efficiently.
- Oversee supply inventory and ordering.
- Support staff onboarding and team coordination.
- Collaborate closely with leadership to maintain compliance and operational standards.
- Help maintain a positive, team-oriented culture across the preschool.
- Juggle multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications:
- Prior teaching experience in early childhood education or a related field.
- Must have a B.A. in Early Childhood or related field.
- Must have at least 24 ECE units.
- Proven administrative experience, ideally in a school or childcare setting.
- Demonstrated ability to manage or lead a team.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Warm, positive attitude with a collaborative, team-first mindset.
- Ability to adapt, problem-solve, and keep operations running smoothly.
- Proficiency with common office software (Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, etc.).
Schedule: Monday through Friday | Schedule to reflect daily operations and programming.
Benefits: Health, Dental, and Vision on the 1st of the month after 60 days of service. 401k after 12 months of service. Sick leave and paid holidays.
